THE STORY OF NOW
They took away their jobs without a vote, they took away their sports, they starved them of human to human connection. And as they feared for their future they fed the rich with their tax dollars, and as they mourned the murder of one black man they placed their knee on the neck of another.
For the first time in forever, all distractions were gone. The people began to think without rose-tinted glasses, they saw, truly saw their world. And what they found enraged them... Chaos ensued. Right and wrong became muddled in the frenzy, “what happened to the virus?” Some asked. But it was face death now or face death later, and the people chose the first above the latter. They had children and their children needed a better future. The conjunction of frustrations could be summed up in one word: Justice.
Looters and anarchists infiltrated, desecrating the reason for the season of unrest, the governor’s tried their best to show restraint. “When the looting starts the shooting starts.” Said the leader of the free world, in broad strokes seeing one as the same and declaring war on his own people. White and black young people, the very youth of the nation.
A bible raised in front of a church brought no peace and entrenched both sides in a standoff that could only mean the nation’s end.
And somewhere far away, that dragon called China sharpened its hungry teeth, as Putin continued his four-year laughter, pointing to his screen, amazing his comrades with all you can accomplish without firing a single shot
